Rhythm & Pitch has a strong team of qualified teachers
Daryl is a veteran of Rhythm & Pitch, bringing his skills as a horn teacher and big band musician to the program in 2015. He has directed R & P’s wind program (horns, woodwinds, flute) since then. He studied music at Wilfrid Laurier University and Humber College and directs The Skyliners Youth Band. Daryl performs regularly in local bands, including The Skyliners Big Band.
Juhan is also a mainstay of Rhythm & Pitch, returning as ukulele and guitar instructor. He is a poet, composer and arranger, private teacher, solo performer and Celtic band musician (Celtic Sky, Pagan’s Folly). Juhan is a singer and player of piano, harpsichord, guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin and bagpipes.
Jessie is the teacher of the foundational Rhythm & Pitch junior program. She uses recorders, xylophones, hand drums, a variety of percussion instruments and musical games to teach the fundamentals. She replaced program director and founder Sandra Ruttan in September 2017. She’s from Music Therapy Services of Simcoe County. She’s a graduate of the University of Windsor where she earned an honours bachelor’s degree in music therapy. Her various music talents include vocals, piano, guitar, violin and French horn. Jessie is a registered music therapist.
April is a native of London, Ontario, who studied music at Acadia University and acquired an honours bachelor’s degree in music therapy there. She’s from Music Therapy Services of Simcoe County. April is a pianist, guitarist,viola player, singer and voice teacher. She’s R & P’s keyboard teacher.
